EXPORTING

Exporting Boer Goats to the World

Through our members the New Zealand Boer Goat Breeders Association is able to co ordinate supply and delivery of registered Boer Goats through out the world by sea or air.

The NZBGBA Boer Goat Register is administered by Genetic Gains New Zealand and is held in the Sheep Improvement Ltd (SIL) Database which can provide a Certificate of Breeding for 5 generations to our clients.

Over the past 10 years the Boer Goat genetic pool in NZ has been selectively upgraded regularly via Australia to the point of now waiting for the next importation from South Africa to Australia.

Our members can also provide the genetics for the Red Boer Goat which is a full blood Boer Goat. Commercially we are able to source Boer infused goats as well, F1, F2 and F3 breeding stock.

As much as we would like you as our client the most important question for you to answer is:

Does your country have a current Overseas Market Access Requirement (OMAR) document?

This is a document that your country’s Government and New Zealand’s Government have agreed upon to be able to export and import goats. Some current New Zealand OMAR’s to other countries are for live goats only, some for embryos and semen only.

Without a current OMAR we can not export goats to you but we are willing to assist you to obtain one. Because New Zealand has very high Bio Security Standards compared to some countries this may take a few months up to 12 months.

Follow this link for countries that New Zealand has a current OMAR with and scroll down the page.
